Leather is a natural material. It starts firm, softens with handling, and takes on a patina that follows how you actually use it. Small marks are part of that — they are not faults.

The details that decide how long it lasts
The hide
Cut from real leather, with the colour running through the hide rather than sitting on top of it. That is why worn edges keep their tone instead of showing a pale core.
The construction
Seams are doubled at the corners, where bags and sleeves usually give first. Hardware is stitched into the leather, not glued to it.
How it ages
Expect the surface to darken slightly and soften in the first months of use. Untreated leather is at its most absorbent when new, so keep it away from oils and rain early on.

Every day
A wipe with a dry, soft cloth is enough. Dust and grit are what scratch leather, not use.
Now and then
Work in a colourless leather balm two or three times a year. Thin layers, then buff. Too much balm darkens the surface.
If it gets wet
Blot it, then let it dry at room temperature. Never on a radiator or in direct sun — heat makes leather stiff and brittle.
Storing it
Keep it out of the plastic. A dust bag or an open shelf lets the leather breathe; sealed bags trap moisture.

Is this real leather?
Yes. Every piece in the leather range is made from real leather. The grade — full-grain or genuine leather — is stated in the details of each product, because it differs per piece.
What is the difference between full-grain and genuine leather?
Full-grain keeps the natural top layer of the hide, including its grain and small marks. It is the most hard-wearing and it develops the clearest patina. Genuine leather is sanded and finished more evenly, so it looks more uniform from the start and stays that way for longer.
Will the colour change over time?
Slightly, yes. Leather darkens where it is handled most and picks up a sheen there. Lighter colours show this sooner than black or dark brown. It is normal and it is not covered as a fault.
Does the leather smell?
New leather has a distinct smell that fades over the first few weeks. Leaving the piece unwrapped in an airy spot speeds that up.
